(5^th grade diary - November 11, 1991)

Dear diary, I haven’t introduced myself

OK, so:

My name's Bat-Chen

And I'm in class 5/a.

I  decided to write a diary

and write down everything that happens in my life

when I'm happy and when I'm sad,

and decided that keeping a diary

Will be a beautiful souvenir of my childhood.

Even  times when I'm down

When I'm nervous and mad,

The diary changes my life,

Into something more beautiful.  

And in the diary I'll tell about my friend Chen,

and the two Nildassy's* who get on my nerves,

and instead of life being great,

they make it dark and gloomy,

but i try to overcome this.

And I'll write about things that happen each day.
