7th grade diary
What I want to do when I grow up
(7th grade diary)
Lots of kids worry about the question
what they'll do when they're grown-up.
Everyone thinks about the future.
It always accompanies us,
like a kind of shadow.
No one can tell exactly what's going to happen.
But we all try to predict it.
One wants to be a doctor,
because that's how she feels
she can help others
and save lives.
One wants to be a cop,
because cops seem to be educational, good individuals
who set an example to citizens.
Because of them, that kid believes
our citizens will all be law-abiding.
Another wants to be an artist
and to draw each town and village,
and his creations, he thinks,
will show people how life really is,
from different perspectives.
Sometimes, they may even want to
get inside the picture
and stay there for ever.
That's what this kid thinks
will make people happy.
And another kid wants to be a teacher
so she can make the changes
which she thinks are really needed.
So there'll be good, concerned teachers, not like
those who teach us now.
Why not!? If they can
change the rules,
and make learning
fun and cool!
And there are so many professions.
One wants to be singer,
and one wants to be a nanny,
and one wants to be a nursery teacher
and another a musician.
There's so many professions,
from teacher to cop,
but all of them have one thing in common.
All of them, in one way or another,
want to help people and the country
to be enlightened and splendid.
And they believe that they can change and construct,
make changes where they’re needed,
and preserve what already exists,
and of course, they want to enjoy life as well
and give joy to others,
as much as they can!
So we all hope that their wishes come true.
"And what do I want to be - you must have guessed!
Right, I want to get across
Feelings and thoughts
That inter-twine to create songs
That make life easier and make people
Look at problems differently,
From all sorts of viewpoints.
