Our "Purim Gift Packages for the Children in the South" has been a huge success! Therefore we have decided to continue the Project and rename it, "Gift Packages for Children in the South."
So far, we have distributed more than 200 diary kits which include a copy of the Bat-Chen Diaries along with an empty diary:
*27 kits were given to children from Kibbutz Kfar Azza during the recent hostilities in Gaza.
*Children living in Ashkelon whose families are employed by "Mekorot" received 30 kits during the war in Gaza.
*Fourth graders at "Nitzanei Eshkol" elementary school on Kibbutz Magen were adopted by the Bi-Cultural Day School in Stamford, Connecticut, who succeeded in collecting $750 in contributions for this project! 86 diary kits were distributed.
*On March 18: a visit to "Shaar Hanegev" elementary school on where 90 kits were distributed. Hadar elementary school in Petach Tikva raised funds for these diary kits.
It should be noted that we have chosen to meet with fourth graders at these schools because research has shown that this is the ideal age in which to begin keeping a diary.
During these sessions, the children participate in a presentation about Bat-Chen's diaries and receive the Bat-Chen's Diaries along with an empty diary in hope of encouraging them to begin writing their own diary in order to help them deal with life's difficulties and pressures which young children living in a region of conflict and non-peace must face.
The cost of each diary kit is 77 NIS.

We have made contact with additional schools in the region; the potential is great.
We are still receiving additional donations from communities and individuals from the USA, England and Israel.
